Terms of Service
Last updated: March 11, 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before purchasing or using the WP Remote Control mobile application ("App") and the Remote Control plugin ("Plugin"), collectively referred to as the "Service." These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and WP Remote Control ("we," "us," "our").
By purchasing, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase, install, or use the Service.
1. Overview of the Service
WP Remote Control is a paid Android application, purchased through the Google Play Store, paired with a free companion WordPress plugin. The App enables WordPress site administrators to monitor site health, manage plugins, toggle maintenance mode, manage users, and manage posts and pages -- directly from an Android device.
The App communicates directly with your WordPress sites over HTTPS. There is no cloud backend, relay server, or intermediary service. All communication occurs between the App on your device and the WordPress REST API on your sites.
2. Eligibility and Account Requirements
2.1. You must have legitimate administrative access to any WordPress site you connect to the Service.
2.2. You must have the authority to install plugins and generate Application Passwords on any WordPress site you manage through the Service.
2.3. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization from site owners before connecting third-party sites to the App.
3. Purchase and Payment
3.1. The App is a paid application available for purchase on the Google Play Store. The purchase price is displayed on the Google Play Store listing at the time of purchase.
3.2. Payment is processed entirely through Google Play. We do not collect or process payment information directly.
3.3. Refunds are available in accordance with Google Play's refund policy. We do not offer refunds outside of this policy. You may request a refund through Google Play by following their standard refund process.
3.4. The Remote Control plugin is provided free of charge.
4. How the Service Works
4.1. Direct Communication Model. The App connects directly to your WordPress sites using the WordPress REST API over HTTPS. No data is routed through, stored on, or processed by any server operated by us. Your sites' data travels only between your device and your WordPress sites.
4.2. Authentication. The Service uses WordPress Application Passwords, a feature built into WordPress core (since version 5.6), for authentication. You are responsible for generating and managing Application Passwords on your WordPress sites.
4.3. Credential Storage. Site URLs, usernames, and Application Passwords are stored locally on your Android device using the Android Keystore system, which provides hardware-backed encryption. We never have access to your credentials.
4.4. The Plugin. The Remote Control plugin is installed on each WordPress site you wish to manage. It registers REST API endpoints that the App uses to retrieve site data and perform management actions. The Plugin enforces WordPress capability checks on every request.
5. User Responsibilities
5.1. You are solely responsible for the WordPress sites you manage through the Service, including their content, configuration, security, and availability.
5.2. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, including screen lock, device encryption, and preventing unauthorized access to the App.
5.3. You are responsible for safeguarding your WordPress credentials, including Application Passwords. If you believe your credentials have been compromised, you should immediately revoke the relevant Application Password from your WordPress user profile.
5.4. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your WordPress sites. The Service does not provide site backup or restoration capabilities.
5.5. You are responsible for ensuring your WordPress sites meet the minimum requirements for the Service (WordPress 5.6+, PHP 7.4+, HTTPS enabled).
5.6. You acknowledge that actions performed through the App -- such as updating, installing, or deleting plugins, toggling maintenance mode, managing users, or managing posts and pages -- have real effects on live WordPress sites. You agree to exercise appropriate caution when performing these actions.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
6.1. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

6.6. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF HEALTH CHECK DATA OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION RETRIEVED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
